Viruses

Although viruses are not a major concern in the Mac world, they do exist. Symantec Antivirus is a popular commercial product. It is well supported and works very well AS LONG AS YOU DON'T HABITUALLY DISMISS THE DIALOG BOX ASKING IF YOU WANT TO CHECK FOR VIRUSES ! Disinfectant is a freeware virus checker that can do many of the same things as SAM, but it does not check for MS Word or Excel macro viruses, so SAM may be a better bet if you use either Word or Excel.
